The Under 18 representative age group form the head and final piece in the jigsaw of the Guernsey FA Academy pathway. Whilst their annual inter-insular showpiece contest is the Under 18 Junior Muratti match v Jersey, the group also enjoy a challenging games programme throughout the year with headline fixtures competing in the FA County Youth Cup, a National Competition which includes English Counties as well the likes of Jersey and the Isle of Man.
The Guernsey FA U18’s also compete locally in the Stranger Cup against senior local clubs which proves to be a great challenge both physically and mentally for these young players as they have an opportunity to compete together against some of the best adult local players in Guernsey.
Under the experienced guidance of Angus Mackay and Jason Tardif, the squad train together every week with the aim to provide the players with the technical, physical and mental attributes that they will need as they mature ready to face the next steps and challenges of their football careers.
In the 2020/21 season, the U18's started training alongside the Guernsey FC squad. These sessions included integration between the groups, thus allowing these young players to play alongside the best players in the island. Not only does this give them an added challenge in training, and experience playing with senior players, but it also gives them something to aspire to, and a very realistic target to work towards in their footballing career.
