The GFA Academy coaches worked hard during the lockdowns in 2020 and 2021 to put together a series of videos to keep our Academy players active and engaged in the game of Football while they were stuck at home.

Back in 2020, GFA Academy Manager Ross Allen said it was important not to lose contact with the players.

"This is a difficult time for everyone. We as coaches really miss the opportunity to be out there on the field working with our players. We wanted to come up with a way for them to still have a connection with us, enabling them to continue to work on their football skills and techniques. Social media and YouTube videos are the perfect way to do that, especially amidst this current world crisis.

In my opinion, this is a great time for players to work on some of the weaker parts of their game. Maybe that technique when striking the ball, or trusting the use of their non dominant foot. The practice they can do now should allow them to return to the competitive football environment with excitement and more confidence in their ability."

These skills and practices are still relevant now that things have returned to a new normal, and we would encourage any young player looking to improve their game to give them a go!
