The U15/16 Academy is proudly supported by First Central Group.

For the 2022/23 season, the Academy U15 and U16 age groups will train once a week on a Monday night at the Memorial field.

This season they will be coached separately, but with the option to train together to help provide a joined up approach between the age groups. This allows for competitiveness in training with players playing against an older or younger age group.

The U15’s compete yearly for the Schoolboy Star Trophy Muratti and will be coached this season by the experienced duo of Colin Fallaize and John Nobes.

The U16’s compete yearly for the Nigel Gavey U16’s Muratti and this will be overseen this season by Ross Allen and Dave Gilman.

Both groups will also be entered this season into league cups with the age group above them.

The U15s will play in the Normandie Cup against U16 club teams, and the U16's will play in the Loveridge Cup and Old Vic Cup against U18 opposition.

This is an important stage for the Academy players as they come through adolescence and begin the journey towards senior football, whilst dealing with GCSE's and other factors of teenage life.

The programme and coaching delivery is therefore geared around preparing the players for the rigours of senior football, while still continuing to help improve their skill level. It is in these key years where more attention is given towards helping the players understand and improve their knowledge of team shape and individual responsibilities within a game situation, as well as trying to help shape them as individuals soon to be entering the adult world.
